People search "how to become a Google Workspace reseller in India" and land on pages from companies that are already resellers, selling to end customers. Very few pages answer the question that was asked. This one does, for Google, Zoho and Titan, and then explains what the XgenPlus partner program asks instead, so you can decide with the requirements side by side.
What Google asks of a Workspace reseller
- Enrol in Google Cloud Partner Advantage and obtain "Sell" authorisation for Workspace. A signed reseller contract is needed before the Partner Sales Console or the reseller API opens (Google's own setup guide).
- A seat threshold, or a distributor. Reseller guides consistently report that direct resellers need around 100 provisioned Workspace seats plus a credit check to sell directly, and that smaller resellers now transact through a distributor such as Ingram Micro rather than with Google.
- Technical and support requirements around capability, support quality and product training, which the partner tier reflects.
- An unpublished margin. Google does not publish what a reseller keeps. Industry reporting puts it at 12 to 18 percent, with some points to the distributor.
- The cheapest plan is not yours to sell. The ₹99 Business Base plan is self-service from Google. Reseller-supported plans start at Business Starter, ₹270 per user per month before GST.
None of this is unreasonable for a product of that size. It is simply a program built for companies that already move hundreds of seats, not for an integrator adding email to an existing practice.
Zoho and Titan, briefly
Zoho Mail resellers are certified Zoho partners listed in the Zoho partner directory; the reseller rate is not published, and Zoho's affiliate program pays a share of first-year revenue only. Titan does not sell direct at all; it is distributed through hosting and domain partners such as BigRock and ResellerClub, who set their own reseller terms and prices.
What XgenPlus asks
| Requirement | Google Workspace reseller | XgenPlus partner |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to join | Not published; enrolment and contract | ₹0 |
| Minimum seats or targets | About 100 seats to sell direct, or a distributor route | None |
| Time to approval | Enrolment, authorisation, contract, credit check | Reviewed within one business day |
| Documents | Legal entity, tax, credit | PAN, GSTIN (India), bank details, registered address, incorporation proof |
| Margin or commission | Unpublished; reported 12 to 18% | Published: 15, 17 or 20% on every order and renewal |
| Who invoices the customer | You, from wholesale | You in your own name, or XgenPlus with the customer referred by you; same commission either way |
| Training and certification | Partner training; tier-based | Free certification test and training material in the partner panel |
| Proof of status | Partner directory | Authorized Partner badge and a public verification page per partner |
| Deployment options | Cloud only | Cloud in India, private cloud, or on-premise including air-gapped |
The application itself takes about ten minutes: company details, contact, registered address, PAN and GSTIN for an Indian business, bank details for payouts, and uploads of your registration and tax documents. The registered address is compulsory because your Authorized Partner welcome letter and certificate are issued to it.
What you get on approval
- A partner panel to add customers, register domains, set up DNS, buy from partner credit or online, and see commission accrue per domain.
- Your own referral link, so a customer who prefers to buy directly still earns you the same recurring commission.
- A Partner Kit with a welcome letter, a sales deck, competitive battlecards, a pricing strategy built from live prices and your own slab, a migration playbook, and the certification test.
- An internal-use licence at half price for your own organisation, which is also the best demo you will ever run.
- A tender desk for government and PSU bids, with manufacturer authorisation and deal registration for system integrators.
Which one should you choose?
If you already sell 100 seats of Workspace a quarter and your customers want Gmail and Meet, stay a Google reseller; the program is built for you. If you are an integrator, MSP, agency, accountant or ISP with customers who need business email on their own domain, hosted in India, at a price that survives the next increase, the XgenPlus program is built for you. Many partners run both: Workspace for the customers who insist on it, XgenPlus for everyone else, and the second list is longer.
